Covenant University’s Exorbitant Fees is God-approved‘- Bishop Oyedepo

The founding Bishop of the Living Faith Church worldwide, Dr David Oyedepo, has appealed to those criticising the school fees charged by Covenant University to desist in order not to incur the wrath of God

he plea in a telecast to a pre-Shiloh 2016 Convention gathering of the church monitored via satellite in Jos on Saturday, where he said the critics were merely acting in ignorance, Vanguard writes.

Making his case, the clergyman/entrepreneur cited an example of one of such critics smitten with a strange plague of chronic mouth odour over the act, but was granted spiritual pardon following his confession and “my intervention before he was restored to dignity”.
According to him, the issue of the school fees paid by students of the university was a godly agenda to meet the demands of raising godly children in an environment conducive for learning.
“The school fees has God’s approval and is in accordance with the quality of facilities provided by the university in meeting the educational needs of the nation,” he opined.
He further disclosed that the church in its pioneering role in pushing the frontiers of education with excellence, had concluded plans to establish offshore universities, adding that a fully automated Bible press by the church had been completed and would be launched soon.
On the state of the nation, Oyedepo, who has often come under flak for his seeming ostentatious lifestyle, said the present economic downturn was predicted but that committed Christians would be exempted.
He quoted some verses of the Bible, which include Matthew 24:6-8, 1Peter 2:9, Joel 2:2 and Mal. 4:1 to buttress his point.
Of course, he didn’t touch on the thorny issue of the affordability of his school to the less privileged members of his church.
Meanwhile, critics are forewarned!
