Today lifestyleof9ja is interviewing a well known media personality DESON JOSHUA to talk about how hyping is done and also its challenges.

Lifestyleof9ja: Can you tell us about yourself
Deson: I am Deson Joshua, popularly known as hypeman deson. I am an hypeman, all round promoter, talent manager, graphics designer and a general publicst currently signed into KTTM promotional record label but i own a talent academy called The Mayor Family
Lifestyleof9ja: Can you briefly explain the major function of an hypeman?
Deson: An hypeman is a person who helps people/artists/individuals to get hyped or known, they are the secret behind every hit. for some public figure/artists to gain the attention of thier fans/crowd, the hypeman has to make the way with interesting words
Lifestyleof9ja: How do you go about connecting individuals to the world?
Deson: You know the world today has advanced, then it was with radio airplay but we pay little or no attention to airplay, now its web, getting your songs, business, events on websites reaches more people and even on a cheaper rates, so i will say through websites and blogs
Lifestyleof9ja: What are the challenges you as a hypeman encounter
Deson: Well one of the problems i encountered is  "lack of trust"  people find it hard to believe, they think we hypeman are charging much and especially when they are in another state or country, they think hyping is very easy and they can hype themselves but its not so.
Lifestyleof9ja: how do you overcome this challenge?
Deson: I have worked for a lot of artist big names and upcoming artists too. So when the 'lack of trust' situation occurs, what I do is just show them who I have worked with, my accomplishments, then this will boost the trust they have before.
Lifestyleof9ja: wow thats nice, so how do manage your artists, There talent etc
Deson: When i see the desire in them, i always want to help them achieve the goal, i bring them from scratch, lecture them about what the industry looks like and we are good to go.
Lifestyleof9ja: And also whats your view about Nigeria's ENTERTAINMENT industry
Deson: What i feel about nigeria entertainment is that they have deviated themselves from the true nature of music, they sing for fun, fame, money etc and not on what will motivate and inspire the youths/children that are listening to them.
Lifestyleof9ja: You know that upcoming artist sometimes are forced to pay before there songs can played by DJs and even for stage performance Do you believe this is right?
Deson: No normally they are not suppose to pay just to get their songs played by DJs neither paying to get a stage performance, they are supposed to be paid or not even paid as an upcoming, not the other way round, i don't  support it,.
Lifestyleof9ja: What advice will you give upcoming artists
Deson: My advice is just keep doing great works, you might not be financially stable but feel free to talk to promoters, hypemen, bloggers, they might help you in one way or the other, never be discouraged, even if you have the talent still put a little hard working, talent cant do it alone, always remember that hardwork beats talent.
